The marketplace is often the heart of even the smallest city or village. Not referring that SHIPSU has anything to do with cities and villages, the Market is also the heart of this service.
This core function is made for both user groups of the service (buyers and providers) and what’s good for providers is good for buyers and vice versa.
The main idea is to create a catalogue like -feeling, where, providers add their selection to the database and buyer users are able to browse, search and in the future RFQ for them.
But there’s more…
Browsing and searching
Buyer can find products and services from the Market by going through the categories and searching items this way. For easier searching the Market has a search engine which allows one to search by provider, references and product or service name.
An example of a reference search is when you want to know, what products have been used in a specific ship. You can type in the ship’s name or IMO number and you will see everything used in that ship that can be found in SHIPSU . This is also the reason, why providers should fill in their references to match these search possibilities as well as possible to be found.
Items in the Market
All items in the SHIPSU Market are inserted there by verified providers of our service. This is how buyers can be sure that all of the items sold actually exist. Information that is given about the products and services can be as excessive as wanted and are inserted by the provider. More about products information will be dealt in a later blog post.
When a buyer has found just the product or service they need one is able to move it to a Order Cart for later and keep browsing or searching the Market. You are always able to go your Order Cart and modify it.
RFQ’s and Quotes inside the service (in development)
When you have saved products and services to an Order Cart you are able to RFQ for them with a single click. This will send out RFQ’s to all of the providers whom you have products in you Order Cart.
For now the buyer has to rely on doing RFQ’s with the traditional way, but this feature is right around the corner.
The great part of the market for a provider is that they have the opportunity to give as much information about their products as they wish for the buyers. This means that the more you tell and show about your products, the more business you are likely to get. The fact is that this is a tool and you decide how well you use it.
This is how it works in a nutshell
